roulette
Each player receives coloured chips, which allows you to quickly identify which each chip represents. Players place their bets before the dealer spins the ball. Once the dealer announces, “no more bets,” no more chips may be placed or moved.
When the ball drops onto the winning number, the dealer removes all losing bets and proceeds to pay the winners. There are a variety of bets to play with roulette, and the player may play as many or as few as they wish.
Blackjack
Blackjack is played against the dealer. Each player receives two cards, while the dealer receives one card. From left to right, players have the opportunity to take more cards (draw) or stick with what they’ve got (stand) in an attempt to make a total that beats the dealer’s hand.
If the player has a total of nine, ten, or eleven, he may double the bet to receive one card only. If the card total exceeds 21, the player loses. Each card counts at face value. Jacks, Queens, and Kings count as 10. Aces count as one or 11. The best possible hand is a blackjack, which is any 10 or face card with an ace and pays 3-2.
When all players have finished playing their hand, the dealer must draw cards to a total of 17. If the dealer’s total is 16 or less, he must draw another card. If the dealer’s total is 17 or more, he must stand. If the player’s total is higher than the dealer’s total, he wins even money. A total equal to the dealer’s hand ties.
Stud Poker
Stud poker is a five-card, no-draw poker game. It begins with players placing a bet on the ante box. The dealer then shuffles one full pack of cards and deals five cards to each player face down, and five to himself. The last card is dealt face up.
Players then pick up their cards and decide whether they think their hand can beat the dealer’s. The player only must beat the dealer; it doesn’t matter what cards other players have. Cards cannot be shown to other players.
If the player decides they can beat the dealer, they place an additional ‘raise’ bet behind their ante, which must be exactly double the ante. If the player decides that the dealer’s hand will beat their own, they can fold and forfeit the ante bet. Once all players have either folded or doubled their bet, the dealer reveals their own cards. The dealer’s hand, at minimum, needs to hold an ace and a king to play. When the dealer does not have this minimum hand, they will pay even money to all the ante bets, regardless of what the players have in their hands. The raise bet does not get paid in this instance.
If the dealer does have the minimum hand, or higher, they can play. They will then compare their hand to the player’s. If the player’s hand is better than the dealer’s, they will be paid even money on the ante bet. On the raise bet, they will be paid according to the following odds:
Craps (Dice)
Craps is a dice-based game where everyone is playing against the casino. To be able to roll the dice, the shooter must make a line bet (pass or don't pass bet). The pay-out is even money. The shooter’s first roll is known as the 'come-out roll'.
If the come-out roll is a 7 or 11, the pass line wins and the don't pass loses. If the come-out roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 then that number is known as the shooter’s point.
The shooter will keep rolling until one of two things happen: if they roll the number that they had to set the point, the pass line bets win and the don't pass bets lose. If a 7 is rolled before the point number, the pass line loses and the don't pass wins. Either way, the round is over. A new round always begins with the same shooter until he 'sevens out'.
-
The Big 6 and Big 8 Bets
You are betting that 6 or 8 will be rolled before a 7. These win even money.
-
Field Bets
You are betting that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. These pay even money, except for 2 or 12, which pay 2 - 1.
-
Place Bets
If your point number comes up before a 7, you win. If a 7 comes up first, you lose.
-
Hardway Bets
Making a hardway means to make the total of two dice on doubles. For example, if you wanted to hit a hard 6, you would need to roll two threes. The pay-outs on these vary.
-
One-Roll Bets
Bets placed on 'any craps' covers numbers 2, 3, and 12. The pay-out is 7-1. Bets placed on 3 or 11 pay 15-1. Bets on 2 or 12 pay 30-1. Any 7 pays 4-1.
-
Horne Bets
A one-roll combination of craps (2, 3, 12) or 11 should you throw any one of these combinations on the next roll you win.
